Mt. Nebo Baptist Church

                 In 1889, God said “Let Mount Nebo come forth”, and He gave Brother Frank Broady a vision. He was a God fearing and Christian man. He was instilled with a vision of a church, a House of Worship, some where on the plantation where he lived.

             With the scriptures as their guide Broady, along with his brothers approached the plantation owner, Mr. Charlie Ruffin and asked to organize a church of worship. The request was finally made and had church in the barn.

                 Our fifteenth(15th) pastor, Rev. Van Major Brass, a dynamic preacher and an educator was full of the Holy Ghost.  Rev. Brass came with a powerful vision and inspiring programs.  He and his wife, Mrs. Brass, came to us in June, 1958 and he has been our shepherd for forty-four(44) years.

             In December of 2005, the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church elected another pastor, Rev. Houston Simmons.
